This row townhome project started with a friend’s vision for inner city density and housing diversity. As an urban planner by training and trade, the client purchased an inner-city corner lot with the dream of creating more land efficiency by adding more homes to a single-family lot. The small, single-family storey-and-a-half was revitalized into five modern, energy-efficient homes. Designed to balance function, affordability and livability, the project features three thoughtfully designed two-storey main floor plans with two lower level two-bedroom secondary suites, and three single-stall garage parking spaces. The architecture is fashioned after Scandinavian–style focusing on simplicity and minimalism. The exterior palette includes a personal touch, incorporating the colours of the Estonian flag — a nod to the family’s favourite sports team.
