I have had the absolute pleasure working with Paul since the mid‐2000s. More importantly, I have been able to call Paul and his family friends since we first met at design school in 2000. Paul merges his no nonsense and honest approach to life with his ever‐pervasive curiosity to find elegant and easy to understand solutions to design challenges. This is Paul's great skill‐ he takes complex things, applies that Saskatchewan filter that slices things into their component bits, then reassembles them into common sense and intelligible outcomes. Paul redesigned a 100‐year old heritage home for me and my family in the mid‐2000s. The house became a home where my young family was able to grow and live well. Paul also designed another project for me - a community sensitive townhouse project complete with a garage suite. The design process was collaborative with both of us learning together with the entire project team. Ego is parked at the door and the design process is about the best result for the client. In my experience as a land developer and builder hiring and working with many architects for almost two decades, I can say this is seldom the case, and a rare ability that is Paul's secret sauce. Paul is an architect, and a damn good one, and his company is aptly called Farmboy for a reason ‐ you will get a great home, a great design and Paul's relentless humbleness throughout.
